Welcome back to Adam Clark Fitness! Last week, we kicked off our summer fitness series with tips on starting your routine. This week, we bring you part two: staying hydrated and well-nourished during the summer season.

Staying Hydrated and Nourished in the Heat

Exercising in the summer heat can be challenging, but with the right strategies, you can stay hydrated, nourished, and on top of your fitness game.

Importance of Hydration

Water is your best friend, especially during the hot summer months. Aim to drink at least eight glasses of water a day, and more if you’re active. Keep a water bottle with you at all times and take sips regularly. Signs of dehydration include dizziness, dry mouth, and dark urine. If you notice any of these, it’s time to drink up!

Summer Nutrition Tips

Eating right supports your fitness goals and helps you stay energized. Focus on light, nutritious meals that are easy to digest. Fresh fruits and vegetables, lean proteins, and whole grains are excellent choices. Foods with high water content, such as watermelon, cucumber, and oranges, help keep you hydrated and feeling fresh.

Hydrating Snacks and Meals

To stay fueled throughout the day, try refreshing snacks like fruit smoothies, yogurt with berries, or a handful of nuts. For meals, consider salads with plenty of greens, grilled chicken or fish, and whole-grain sides. These options provide essential nutrients without feeling too heavy.
