Making the most of your 4,000 weeks and beyond

Have you ever seen one of those 4,000-week time posters? The ones where you fill in the little dots, each representing a week of your life?

It’s a little terrifying. The idea comes from the book Four Thousand Weeks: Time Management for Mortals by Oliver Burkeman. I haven’t read it yet, but it got me thinking about how we all want to make the most of our time.

So how do we do that? Everyone has to figure out what kind of life they want to live, but here’s my take:

Health is wealth. If you don’t have your health, you have nothing. All the money in the world won’t help if you feel terrible, can’t move well, or aren’t taking care of yourself. Prioritizing your health gives you more energy, more confidence, and more life to enjoy.

Your circle matters. Our ACF crew (and yes, I’m biased) is an incredible group of people. Let’s be real—not everyone wants to work out every day, but when you surround yourself with people who uplift and motivate you, it makes a difference. Who do you want to be around more? Who lights you up? And who drains you?

Priorities shape your life. What’s on your personal priority list? Not your to-do list—your real list. Yes, work is necessary. Yes, daily responsibilities matter. But what about the things that truly mean something to you? If you try to prioritize everything, nothing actually gets done. If you didn’t catch our Core 4 workshop, it’s a great place to start.

Balance is a myth. Life isn’t a perfect 25/25/25/25 split between work, health, relationships, and personal growth. Some things take more focus at certain times, and that’s okay. Just make sure you’re not neglecting the key areas that truly matter to you.

We all have an expiration date. It’s a fact. But the good news? If you’re coming to ACF and making your health a priority, we’ve got plenty of people who are well past those 4,000 weeks—and thriving. While I can’t guarantee anything, the healthier you are, the more weeks we can keep tacking on!

So take care of your health (that’s why we do what we do!), strengthen your circle, prioritize what matters, stop chasing perfect balance, and control what you can control.

That Facebook debate you’re stressing about? Not worth your time. But showing up for yourself, your health, and the things that truly matter? That’s how you make the most of your 4,000 weeks—and maybe even add a few more.
