Some people become part of the foundation of a gym.
Cathie Gignac is one of them.
Cathie has been part of Adam Clark Fitness since the very beginning—literally since the doors first opened. Over the years, she has become a familiar and welcoming face in the gym, someone members know they’ll see early in the morning putting in the work.
If you know Cathie, you know one thing for certain: if it’s a 5 a.m. training session, she’s there.
No excuses.
No drama.
Just steady consistency.
Cathie doesn’t show up chasing extreme workouts or quick fixes. She shows up to move, to get stronger, and to keep improving one session at a time.
And that’s exactly why she continues to see progress.
Over the years, Cathie has become stronger, more confident, and more capable in everything she does. Like many members at Adam Clark Fitness in Brewer, Maine, her focus has never been about perfection. Instead, it’s about showing up regularly and doing the work that supports long-term health.
Along the way, Cathie has also helped shape the kind of community Adam Clark Fitness is known for.
She supports others.
She encourages people around her.
She celebrates when others succeed.
And that’s part of what makes a great gym environment—people lifting each other up while they get stronger together.
Now, does Cathie love every exercise we program?
Not exactly.
She’ll be the first to tell you she’s not a big fan of inchworms.
But she does them anyway—and keeps going.
That’s the part that matters.
Consistency doesn’t mean loving every movement or feeling motivated every day. It means showing up even when something feels uncomfortable, challenging, or just plain early in the morning.
Cathie recently shared this in her Google review:
“Adam has created a gym where everyone feels welcome. He and his team of trainers offer support and feedback, and strive to help members meet their individual goals. Adam has developed a gym community of supportive members who offer encouragement, cheer each other on and celebrate successes.”
That’s exactly what Cathie represents.
She shows up.
She supports others.
She puts in the effort—even when it’s early.
And seven years later, she’s still getting better.
Cathie’s story is a great example of what consistent strength training and community support can do over time. Many of the adults who train at Adam Clark Fitness in the Bangor and Brewer, Maine area aren’t chasing extreme goals—they simply want to stay strong, move well, and continue doing the things they enjoy as they get older.
That’s what long-term fitness is really about.
Not perfection.
Just continuing.
Great work, Cathie. We’re always excited to see your name on the roster, and we’re proud of everything you’ve built here.
Keep going. You’ve got this.
