Some weeks are not going to go according to plan.
Work gets busy. Appointments pop up. Family needs something. You sleep poorly. Your energy is off. The schedule that looked great on Sunday suddenly falls apart by Tuesday.
That does not mean the whole week is lost.
Use your minimum plan.
If you cannot get three workouts in, get two.
If you do not have time for a long walk, take a short one.
If you cannot make the perfect meal, get some protein and produce on the plate and move on.
If getting to bed early is not happening, put the phone down 20 minutes sooner and give yourself a better shot at some sleep.
The point is not to do everything perfectly.
The point is to stay connected.
At Adam Clark Fitness in Brewer, Maine, we talk a lot about building routines that work in real life. For adults over 40, 50, and 60, consistency with strength training and regular movement matters far more than having one perfect week and then disappearing when life gets busy.
Your minimum plan gives you something to fall back on.
It keeps the routine alive.
It helps you avoid the all-or-nothing trap where one missed workout becomes a missed week, and one missed week turns into a month.
That is real consistency.
Sometimes you do the full plan.
Sometimes you do the minimum.
Both count.
Something still beats nothing.
Stay in the game.
