If you’re not sure where to start with fitness, start here:
Strength train twice per week.
That’s it.
Not because twice per week is magic, but because it’s realistic enough to repeat and powerful enough to matter.
A lot of people make fitness way too complicated when they’re trying to get started. They think they need to train five or six days a week, overhaul their entire diet, do a bunch of cardio, stretch every morning, hit 10,000 steps, drink more water, sleep perfectly, and somehow keep up with everything else in life.
And then they get overwhelmed before they even begin.
So start smaller.
Start with two days of strength training each week.
The general adult recommendation is at least two days of muscle-strengthening activity every week, along with regular moderate activity like walking, biking, hiking, or anything else that gets you moving.
That’s why we talk about strength training so much at Adam Clark Fitness.
It’s not just about looking different.
It’s about keeping muscle.
Building confidence.
Protecting your body as you age.
Feeling stronger in everyday life.
Being able to get up and down easier.
Having more energy.
Feeling like your body is something you can trust again.
And the best part is you don’t need to live in the gym to start making progress.
Two good strength workouts per week is a great beginning.
Then add walks where you can.
Keep it simple.
Repeat it.
Let it build.
Because for most people, the thing that changes everything is not the perfect plan.
It’s having something realistic enough to keep doing.
If you know strength training matters but you’re not sure what to do, that’s exactly where coaching helps.
