One of the easiest ways to lose momentum is to spend all day debating with yourself.
“Should I work out?”
“Maybe I’ll go later.”
“I’m tired.”
“I’ll do it tomorrow.”
By the time you are done negotiating, you are mentally exhausted and nothing happened.
Sometimes the best thing you can do is make the choice simple.
If the workout is on your calendar, go.
If you said you were going for a walk, take the walk.
If you planned a better dinner, make it.
If you know water would help, drink it.
You do not need to feel motivated first.
Most of the time, action comes before motivation. You start moving, and then you feel better. You show up, and then you are glad you did.
A good routine helps remove the daily debate.
Make the plan.
Keep it realistic.
Follow through on the next thing.
That is how momentum gets built.
